Yvon Rouillard was introduced to wheelchair basketball while at a rehabilitation centre in his hometown of Montreal, Quebec. He began playing the sport in October 1999, and later joined the Quebec provincial team. In 2007, he earned a full-time spot on the Sr. Men's National Team. Rouillard went on to represent Canada at the Paralympic Games in 2008 and 2012, where Team Canada captured a silver and gold medal, respectively. When he is not representing his country or his home province on the basketball court, Rouillard can be found making a name for himself overseas. He has played professionally in leagues in Australia and France, and he currently competes with a club team in Italy. His biggest sporting challenge is balancing work and training before a competition. His personal motto is “Live in the moment.”
