With the 2011 Parapan American Games coming up in November, how are you preparing for your first major international competition as a member of the Sr. Women’s Natioanl Team?

Jamey-headshot-newbg“With the Parapan American Games coming up in Guadalajara, I’m training as much as possible. I’m overseas in Germany playing with the Trier Dolphins. We practice five days a week and our season starts October 1st. I do get nervous before I play in major competitions, but I just came out of the Women’s U25 World Championship and I learned quickly how to manage my nerves before games. I get pretty excited too! You are always excited more for some games than others.

I have a few goals going into Guadalajara. I would like to be faster and I’m also working on court awareness and focusing on being able to bring everything I can to help better my team! It’s also a bonus playing with fellow Team Canada members Janet McLachlan and Tara Feser in Trier. Not only are they my teammates and we are building good court chemistry, but they are great mentors as well.”
