The goal of the event is to raise funds that enable more Canadians to experience the life-changing impact of wheelchair basketball while bringing awareness to the sport and athletes. Teams of 4-6 players enjoy the thrill and challenge of playing 3-on-3 wheelchair basketball, while interacting with Team Canada athletes and coaches.
Impact of Your Generosity
Wheelchair Basketball Canada strongly believes in the power of sport to move people toward enhanced health, stronger communities and improved quality of life. That is why we are fiercely dedicated to creating opportunities for all Canadians to reach their full potential both on and off the court. Whether competing for fun or pursuing the Paralympic podium, our vision is for every Canadian to be given the opportunity to play.
The funds raised at Hoopfest are used to enable all Canadians to be active, be included, and be empowered to pursue their own individual excellence. Through your support more Canadians living with disability will experience the life-changing benefits of wheelchair basketball.
Hoopfest features up to 16 teams (4-6 players per team) and each team will play a minimum of five games. Games are 3-on-3 and played on a half-court. The tournament will conclude with an awards ceremony to recognize the top three teams.
Team Canada Athletes
One of the highlights at Hoopfest is the opportunity to engage with Team Canada athletes and the future stars of the game. With the event taking place our National Training Centre, it is a perfect opportunity for our athletes to share their experiences and provide expert coaching tips to participants.
How to Register
Each team is asked to commit a minimum registration fee of $1,500. All proceeds go towards grassroots wheelchair basketball programs in Canada.
Registration for 2020 is coming soon!
In addition to the registration fee, individuals and teams will be asked to help raise money through their own peer networks – it is as easy as sending a few emails to family, friends, coworkers, etc. We will provide templated messaging and links to personalized fundraising pages. Since we want you to go further, we will sweeten the pot with great prizes and incentives.
Wheelchair Basketball Canada invites corporations to get even more involved with Hoopfest by becoming official event partners. Opportunities include court sponsorship, recognition on digital platforms and event marketing collateral, special mentions in opening and closing remarks, participation in award presentations, employee and client engagement, and other unique partnership opportunities.
For more information about potential partnership opportunities, please contact Jody Kingsbury, Director Marketing and Communications, at 613-851-2337 or email@example.com.
