Academy Athletes

Targeted athletes, primarily in the Train to Compete, and Learn to Win phase of the Wheelchair Basketball Canada Long Term Athlete Development Model (typically 18-25 years old), will have access to optimized coaching, training, and mentorship at the National Academy.

Full-time National Academy athletes will also have access to a world-leading integrated support team, which includes professionals in sports medicine, strength and conditioning, sports psychology, nutrition, sport massage and equipment.

The National Academy will also be utilized as a central training location for other members of Canada’s high performance program, including current and future members of the senior national teams. National Team players have the opportunity to drop-in at the Academy for a period of customized training as they prepare for international competitions.

The following athletes are attending the National Academy in 2016-2017.
