Tim Frick reçoit un prix communautaire de développement d’entraîneurs du PNCE

Tim Frick(Vancouver, B.C.) ViaSport is excited to announce Gail Donohue, Norman Olenick and Tim Frick (wheelchair basketball) as the 2013 recipients of the Community NCCP Coach Developer Award, created by the Coaching Association of Canada and presented by Investors Group.

« Gail, Tim and Norm are three outstanding builders for sport and educators of coaches, committed to continuous learning, » said Chantelle Reinkens, the manager of coaching services at ViaSport. « They continue to be advocates and leaders in the field of coach development throughout BC, affecting every aspect of coaching from grass roots to high performance. It’s been an honour to have the opportunity to work with them.”

Frick is the former head coach of the Canadian women’s wheelchair basketball team. Behind the bench he led Team Canada to three consecutive Paralympic gold medals and four consecutive world championship titles. He has made significant contributions to the sport community through coach development. He is a respected mentor who strives to create greater opportunity for fellow coaches to gain valuable technical experience. He is actively involved in the implementation of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and spearheads clinics and training sessions designed to develop the next generation of coaches.

The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) created the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Coach Developer Awards to recognize outstanding individuals who go above and beyond to develop certified and trained NCCP coaches in their sport, their communities, and beyond.

“We have always appreciated and valued our coach developers who are out in the community inspiring coaches to be the best that they can be. I am excited we have a tangible way to honour these dedicated individuals, » said Cyndie Flett, vice-president of research and development with CAC.
