Hosts Announced for 2017 Junior Regional Wheelchair Basketball Championships

120216-juniorregionals-portrait(Ottawa, Ont.) Wheelchair Basketball Canada is pleased to announce that Wheelchair Sports Alberta (WSA) and the Nova Scotia Wheelchair Sports Association (NSWSA) will play host to the two Junior Regional Championships in 2017.

The Junior West Regional Championship will take place from April 28-30, 2017 at the Penhold Regional Multiplex in Red Deer, Alta. The tournament features the top junior aged athletes in Western Canada from the provinces of Alberta, Manitoba, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.

In Eastern Canada, the provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Quebec will send their top junior athletes to compete at the Junior East Regional Championship. It will take place from May 12-14, 2017 at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, N.S.

The 3-on-3 tournaments feature the top junior talent in Canada as provinces prepare to compete at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alta.
