International Technical Officials (ITOs) for the 2018 World Wheelchair Basketball Championships confirmed, including Canada’s Anne Lachance, Sergio Giordano, Sebastian Gauthier and Alexandre Lapointe

The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) recently announced the fifty-four officials that will make up the International Technical workforce for the World Championships, taking place in Hamburg, Germany in August. Included were four Canadians selected to cover the event: Anne Lachance, Sergio Giordano, Sebastian Gauthier and Alexandre Lapointe.

Anna Lachance will be representing Canada in the classification panel. Sebastian Gauthier and Alexandre Lapointe are among the thirty-two referees that have been appointed to make up the game crews for each of the ninety-six games in the tournament. And the referees will be directed by six experienced referee supervisors, including Sergio Girodano.

The world’s wheelchair basketball elite will meet from August 16-26, 2018 at the edel-optics.de Arena, where 16 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams will compete for the title of World Champions. For more information, visit the IWBF site.
