Wheelchair Basketball Canada’s senior men’s team will play host to the Netherlands in a Feature Game on Saturday, July 2, at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre in Scarborough, Ont. The Feature Game, which will tip-off at 4:00 p.m. ET, is free and open to the public.

The game against the Netherlands will serve as part of Team Canada’s preparation for the IWBF Americas Cup in São Paulo, Brazil, where Canada will compete in qualifying for the IWBF World Championships.

The Americas Cup (July 13-18) will see Canada’s men’s team play in Group B with
Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico. The top four men’s teams will earn the right to represent the IWBF Americas in Dubai at the World Championships (Nov. 16-27, 2022).

“The Feature Game against the Netherlands will provide our athletes with excellent competition as we make final preparations for the Americas Cup,” said Jeff Dunbrack Wheelchair Basketball Canada High Performance Director. “Fans attending the Feature Game will have an opportunity to see a mix of our veteran Paralympians and some of the younger up-and-coming talent set to represent Canada this summer.”

Those attending the Feature Game will get the chance to see Paralympians Nik Goncin (Regina, Sask.), Bo Hedges (Wonowon, B.C.), and Tyler Miller (Kitchener, Ont.), among others. Additionally, it will be an opportunity for fans to see athletes who will represent Team Canada this summer at both the Americas Cup and Commonwealth Games.
