Tickets Sold Out for Opening Ceremonies and First Team Canada Game at the 2014 Women’s World Wheelchair Basketball Championship

(Toronto, Ont.) Wheelchair Basketball Canada is excited to announce that tickets to the Opening Ceremony and Team Canada’s first game against Japan at the 2014 Women’s World Wheelchair Basketball Championship in Toronto are sold out.

Tickets for the rest of the world championship, to be held at the Mattamy Athletic Centre from Friday, June 20 to Saturday, June 28 are still available for purchase at www.2014wheelchairbasketball.com/tickets.

Tournament passes, day passes, individual session tickets and group tickets are available for spectators to cheer on Team Canada as they compete on home soil for a seventh consecutive podium finish at the world championship. Canada is the defending bronze medallist, and will be among 12 teams battling for the title of World Champion at the largest women’s world championship ever.

The women’s tournament will be held separately from the men’s for the first time in 20 years, and with it host Wheelchair Basketball Canada hopes to forge a legacy for female wheelchair basketball athletes around Canada and the world.

Team Canada also looks to build momentum at the world championship as they move towards the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games – also to be held at the Mattamy Athletic Centre – and the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
