Canadian Women’s Team heads to Quebec City for Paralympic prep

The camp runs Aug. 9-16 at Université Laval

The Canadian Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team will hold a training camp at Université Laval in Quebec City from August 9-16, 2024. The eight-day camp will feature the 12 athletes nominated to the Paralympic Games and serve as the final preparation for the Paris Games.

The mix of on-court and off-court activities will allow the athletes to fine-tune aspects of their game following last month’s friendlies against Great Britain. Additionally, the camp will allow the athletes to build team chemistry before departing for Paris.

“As our Senior Women’s National Team prepares for the Paralympics, this eight-day camp in Quebec City will provide an excellent opportunity for our athletes to work on their game before heading to Paris,” said Jeff Dunbrack, Wheelchair Basketball Canada High Performance Director. “This camp will also allow our staff and athletes to build off last month’s games in Manchester.”

The women’s team will play in Pool A at the Paralympics (Aug. 29 – Sept. 8) against Great Britain, China, and Spain. Team Canada opens the tournament against China on August 29.
