Kingston to Host Competition-Introduction Coaching Course

Registration is now open – deadline is March 7

Registration is now open for the Competition-Introduction Coaching Workshop at Queens University in Kingston, Ont., from March 22-23.

There will be two virtual sessions in preparation for the course.

COURSE DETAILS

Format: 2 virtual sessions + 2 in-person sessions (all sessions are mandatory)

  • Virtual Sessions – 6-9 pm EST on March 12 and March 19
  • In-Person Sessions – March 22-23

 Location: Queens University 284 Earl Street, Kingston Ont., K7L 3N6

Registration Deadline: March 7

The 19-hour workshop is an entry-level competition course which includes four sessions, with on and off-court components. No previous coaching certification is required. The course is open to all coach candidates 16 years of age or older.

Candidates are required to complete the following pre-requisites on the NCCP Locker before the course begins:

  1. NCCP Emergency Action Plan
  2. NCCP Coaching Athletes with a Disability

An NCCP Locker account can be created here.

Upon completion, candidates will be equipped with the foundational skills necessary to coach the basic techniques and tactics of wheelchair basketball required to support the competitive experience.

HOW TO REGISTER

Individuals can register for the workshop through RAMP Interactive. Those without a RAMP account will be prompted to create one during registration.
