Daniel was 15 when the unthinkable happened. He was on a humanitarian trip with his church in the Dominican Republic when his hotel balcony collapsed and caused him to fall three stories. He sustained major injuries all over his body including a broken neck and back.
“I lost all my independence when I broke my back. I didn’t believe I could live on my own or have a quality of life that’s worth living. I gained that all back when I started playing wheelchair basketball,” says Daniel.
Watch Daniel’s inspiring story of perseverance, spirit, and determination—and how wheelchair basketball changed his life.
