2015 Canadian Senior Men’s National Wheelchair Basketball Team Named

(Ottawa, Ont.) Wheelchair Basketball Canada is pleased to announce the list of 11 athletes named to the 2015 Canadian Senior Men’s National Wheelchair Basketball Team that will be nominated to the Canadian Paralympic Committee to compete on home soil at the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games, where the team will vie for a top two finish in order to qualify for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Summer Games.

The 12th and final roster spot on the team will be determined at a later date pending further evaluation.

The roster features six returning players from the team that captured the gold medal at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

“We are confident the group of athletes selected to the team will push for the podium in 2015,” said Team Canada Head Coach Jerry Tonello. “We have invested a great deal of focus and training to ensure we are poised for success on our home court at the Parapan Am Games, where our goal is to qualify for the Paralympic Games and ultimately go on to defend our gold medal at Rio 2016.”
