Call for Nominations for Wheelchair Basketball Canada Annual Awards and Hall of Fame

(Ottawa, Ont.) Wheelchair Basketball Canada (WBC) welcomes the opportunity to celebrate individual excellence with the call for nominations for its annual Awards and Hall of Fame. The nomination deadline is February 9, 2020.

The award winners and Hall of Fame inductees will be recognized at the WBC annual awards banquet, which takes place during the 2020 Canadian Wheelchair Basketball League (CWBL) National Championship from April 17-19 in Montreal.

Individuals can be nominated in the following award categories:

  • Junior Athlete of the Year
  • Female Athlete of the Year presented by Grosso Hooper Law
  • Male Athlete of the Year
  • True Sport Award
  • Leadership Excellence Award

The WBC Hall of Fame honours Canadian individuals and teams who have attained extraordinary achievement in the sport of wheelchair basketball, as well as those who have given distinguished service and made a major contribution to the development and advancement of the sport in Canada or internationally.

Nominees may be inducted into the Hall of Fame in the following categories:

  • Athlete
  • Coach
  • Official
  • Builder
  • Team
