Americas Cup Day Three Recap: Canada Banks Another Win

Team Canada defeated Nicaragua August 6 by a score of 61–25 to increase their record to 2-1 at the 2013 Americas Cup.

Canada remained in control the entire game and used the game to give all players court time.

“In our games against less experienced teams, the team uses those opportunities to work on their process goals. Doing a lot of the little things right will improve the team’s chances of playing well later in the tournament,” said Wheelchair Basketball Canada High Performance Director Paul Zachau.

Nik Goncin led all scorers with 19 points, while David Eng and Dave Durepos scored 14 and 12 respectively.

Canada will play host Colombia August 7 at 6:15pm.
