Calgary Rollers, Gladiateurs de Laval to play for gold at CWBL Nationals presented by SureGrip

New Brunswick and Edmonton Inferno to play for Division 2 gold on Sunday

The Calgary Rollers and Gladiateurs de Laval will play for Division 1 gold on Sunday at the CWBL Nationals presented by SureGrip at the Richard J. Currie Center.

The gold medal game will be a rematch of Saturday’s Division 1 round-robin finale, which the Calgary Rollers won 71-54.

Calgary punched its ticket to the gold medal game with a 57-35 win over the BC Grizzlies. The Gladiateurs de Laval secured their spot in Sunday’s gold medal game with a 75-70 win over their provincial rival Centre d’integration a la vie active.

In Division 2, the host, New Brunswick and the Edmonton Inferno will play for gold on Sunday. The two teams met in round robin play on Saturday, with New Brunswick topping the Inferno 64-42.

New Brunswick defeated the Calgary Rollers 2 64-37 in the semifinals. In the other Division 2 semifinal, the Edmonton Inferno earned their spot in the gold medal game with a 75-55 win over Club 99.

The action concludes on Sunday with the Division 1 third-place game between Centre d’integration a la vie active and the BC Grizzlies tipping off the schedule at 8:00 am ADT.  Gym 1 games can be streamed on the WBC YouTube channel.

Parasport New Brunswick is hosting the 2024 CWBL National Championship presented by SureGrip at the Richard J. Currie Center in Fredericton, N.B.

The National Championship takes place every spring when competitive club teams from across Canada compete for the title of national champion. The CWBL National Championship is the premiere national event on the annual domestic wheelchair basketball calendar. It also hosts the Wheelchair Basketball Canada annual awards banquet.
