Canadian Contingent Among International Technical Officials Selected for Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games

The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) has unveiled the list of international technical officials (ITOs) for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, which includes four Canadians.

Leading the way is Steve Bach, president of the IWBF Americas Zone, as a part of the tournament technical committee. Veteran official Sergio Giordano will be one of six referee supervisors in Tokyo.

On the court, Canada will be represented by referees Alexandre Lapointe and Sebastien Gauthier. Tokyo 2020 will be Gauthier’s sixth Paralympic Games, while Lapointe made his Paralympic debut at Rio 2016.

The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will take place from August 24 to September 5, 2021.
