The Ontario Para Network and Sport Durham will host the Wheelchair Basketball National Championships at Durham College/Ontario Tech University in Oshawa, Ont. from May 23-25, 2025.
“I am excited to co-chair the Wheelchair Basketball National Championships in my backyard,” said Anthony Lue, tournament co-chair. “As a para-athlete, I am amazed to see Durham Region becoming Ontario’s hub of adaptive sports. With the support we have already received, the future is extremely bright for para-sport in Ontario.”
The National Championships will feature men’s and women’s divisions, bringing together the country’s top male and female athletes, who will represent their province in a best-on-best competition.
“We are excited to have the top men’s and women’s athletes compete for the National Championships,” said Sean Liebich, Wheelchair Basketball Canada’s Program Manager. “The event highlights strategic alignment between WBC’s domestic and high-performance programs as we begin a new quadrennial cycle.”
Fans and supporters can expect an exhilarating display of skill, determination, and sportsmanship as teams battle for the national title.
