Gladiateurs de Laval, Scarborough Tigers undefeated after Day 1 of 2022 CWBL National Championship

Vikings and the athletes representing Manitoba and New Brunswick undefeated in Division 2

The Gladiateurs de Laval and Scarborough Tigers are undefeated with 2-0 records in Division 1 following round robin play at the 2022 CWBL National Championship in Montreal. In Division 2, the Vikings and a team of athletes representing Manitoba and New Brunswick are 2-0 following Friday’s action at the Centre Pierre Charbonneau.

The Gladiateurs de Laval, winners of three straight national titles, defeated the Alberta Northern Lights and the BC Grizzlies during Friday’s play. Meanwhile, the Scarborough Tigers opened the tournament with a win over Centre d’integration a la vie active before defeating the Calgary Rollers.

The Vikings beat the Edmonton Inferno to open their day before wrapping up with a win over Club 99 in Division 2 play. The athletes from Manitoba and New Brunswick picked up wins against Les Glaciers and the BC Orcas.

Wheelchair Basketball Canada and Parasports Quebec co-host the three-day tournament. It features the top club teams in the country competing for the title of national champions in two divisions at the Centre Pierre Charbonneau. The competition resumes Saturday, with the quarterfinals starting at 9 am ET.
