National Team athletes to build competitive experience in 2026 Toronto Cup

Neil Lumsden, Ontario’s Minister of Sport will join WBC to celebrate wheelchair basketball

OTTAWA, ONT. – The Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre will host the 2026 Toronto Cup from Feb. 13–15, bringing together Senior National Team and NextGen athletes for three days of high-level wheelchair basketball competition.

The Toronto Cup provides National Team athletes with a valuable training opportunity as they prepare to represent Canada at the 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships, taking place in Ottawa, Ont., from Sept. 9-19, 2026.

The tournament will feature five teams composed of athletes from across the country, including 12 Canadian Paralympians. Action tips off Friday, Feb. 13, at 8:30 a.m. and wraps up Sunday, Feb. 15, at 11:00 a.m. Ontario’s Minister of Sport, Neil Lumsden will be in attendance on opening day. All games will take place at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre and are free and open to the public.
