Quebec and BC advance to gold medal game on Day 2 of the Junior National Championship in Charlottetown

Team BC will square off against Team Quebec in the 2022 Junior National Championship gold medal game on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. ADT. The game will be a rematch of Friday’s round-robin game where BC topped Quebec 48-41.

BC, the only undefeated team remaining in the tournament, defeated Alberta 76-32 in Saturday’s semifinals to earn a berth in the final. Quebec beat the team of athletes from New Brunswick and P.E.I. 60-39, punching their ticket to Sunday’s final.

The athletes from New Brunswick and P.E.I. will play Alberta for bronze on Sunday (9:00 a.m. ADT). Saskatchewan and Manitoba will play in the fifth and sixth place game at 11:00 a.m. ADT. Ontario and Nova Scotia/Newfoundland will play for the seventh and eighth seed at 9:00 a.m. ADT.

The three-day tournament is co-hosted by Wheelchair Basketball Canada and ParaSports and Recreation PEI and features the best junior wheelchair basketball athletes in Canada. This event acts as a seeding tournament and test event for the 2023 Canada Games in P.E.I. (Feb. 18-Mar. 5, 2023).
