Toronto Invitational brings four nations to Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre

Senior Men’s National Team to play host to Australia, Italy and the United States 

(OTTAWA, Ont.) – Wheelchair Basketball Canada and the Senior Men’s National Team will welcome three of the world’s top wheelchair basketball nations to the Toronto Invitational, taking place July 10–14.

The five-day tournament will feature Team Canada facing Australia, Italy and the United States in a series of exhibition games as all four nations continue preparations for the 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships, set for September 9–19 in Ottawa.

All 10 games will be played at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (875 Morningside Ave., Scarborough, ON M1C 0C7). Admission is free, giving fans the opportunity to experience world-class wheelchair basketball and watch some of the sport’s top athletes compete on the international stage less than three months before the World Championships.

Tournament play begins Friday, July 10, with the United States taking on Italy at 12:30 p.m. EDT. The round-robin schedule continues throughout the weekend, culminating in the championship game on Tuesday, July 14, at 2:30 p.m. EDT.

The Toronto Invitational will provide five days of elite competition, showcasing the speed, skill, athleticism and intensity that define international wheelchair basketball. With four of the world’s top programs battling for momentum ahead of September’s World Championships, fans can expect an exciting preview of the sport’s biggest event of the year.
