Events nationwide will help raise awareness, increase participation, and support wheelchair basketball programs across the country
WBC will host the third annual Wheelchair Basketball Week from September 23-29, 2024. In partnership with our Provincial Sport Organizations and club programs, the week-long initiative will include events across the country.
The week of initiatives includes Try It events at Collège La Cité (Sept. 24), Algonquin College (Sept. 25), and the University of Ottawa (Sept. 26).
“We look forward to working with all of our provincial partners and club programs during the third annual Wheelchair Basketball Week,” said Wendy Gittens, Wheelchair Basketball Canada CEO. “Building off the momentum and excitement of the Paralympic Games, Wheelchair Basketball Week aims to unite the wheelchair basketball community across Canada to raise awareness, increase participation, and celebrate our sport as we prepare to host the 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships.”
