
Sofia Fassi-Fehri
Biography
Sofia Fassi-Fehri was introduced to wheelchair basketball following a 2013 motorcycle accident. Fassi-Fehri has paralysis from the chest down and in her right shoulder following her accident.
While rehabilitating from the accident, Fassi-Fehri was introduced to various adaptive sports, including wheelchair basketball.
Fassi-Fehri stuck with wheelchair basketball because she enjoyed the social aspect of it.
She grew up in Fes, Morocco, with an older brother and twin sisters. Fassi-Fehri moved to Meknes when she was 15 to attend high school.
Fassi-Fehri first lived in Canada as an 11-year-old for two years in Moncton, New Brunswick. She returned to Canada at 18 to attend university at Polytechnic Montreal.
Fassi-Fehri originally debuted with the Senior Women’s National Team in 2022 when she suited up for Team Canada at the Americas Cup in São Paulo, Brazil.

2024: Bronze medalist with CIVA at the CWBL National Championship… Gold medalist at the CWBL Women’s National Championship with Team Quebec…Qualified for the 2024 Paralympic Games with an 88-30 victory over Algeria at the Women’s IWBF Repechage Tournament… Fourth place finish at the Paris Paralympic Games.
