Jeremy Watts
Biography:
Jeremy Watts first encountered the sport of wheelchair basketball in the fifth grade during a demonstration at school. He and his twin brother Joel were both recruited to join the local wheelchair basketball club in their hometown of Charlottetown, PEI.
Watts, or ‘Wattsy’ as he is known, has since become a regular within the wheelchair basketball community in the Maritimes and has represented his home province on the national stage at major tournaments including the Canada Games.
The speed and the physicality of the sport continue to fuel his passion for the game to this day. Watts works diligently both on and off the court to master his skills and become an impact player.
As his game evolved, so too did his aspirations of one-day competing for Team Canada. His dream of donning the Canadian colours was realized in 2013 as he and his twin brother both earned a spot with the Men’s U23 National Team.
When he is not competing on the basketball court, Watts can be found spending time with friends and watching sports, including his favourite hockey team – the Toronto Maple Leafs.
