Canadian men’s team heads to Italy for Americas Cup prep

Twelve athletes will participate in training camp in Giulianova

Wheelchair Basketball Canada announced that 12 athletes will participate in the upcoming men’s training camp from June 5-12 in Giulianova, Italy.

The camp, which will see a mix of on-court and off-court activities, will serve as the final camp before selecting the men’s roster for the IWBF Americas Cup. In addition to practices, Canada will participate in the International Tournament of the City of Giulianova, which will see them play six games against Italy, Poland, and Spain from June 7-12.

“This camp will allow our staff to evaluate talent ahead of making roster selections for July’s Americas Cup,” said Jeff Dunbrack, Wheelchair Basketball Canada High Performance Director. “Additionally, the games will give our athletes excellent competition as they continue to build chemistry for upcoming competitions.”
