CWBL Women’s National Championship tips off March 22

College la Cité in Ottawa to host the top female athletes in Canada

The 2024 CWBL Women’s National Championship tips off on Friday, March 22, at the College la Cité. Team BC and the Mixed team (with athletes from Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta) will open the tournament at noon.

Team Quebec, the defending champions, wrap up Day 1’s action at 4:30 p.m. against the Mixed team. The tournament will also include a 3×3 competition for a third consecutive year.

The 5-on-5 portion of the tournament will be live streamed on the WBC YouTube channel on Friday and Saturday. RogersTV Ottawa will air the third-place and gold medal games on Sunday.

Eight members of the Senior Women’s National Team will compete at the three-day tournament, including Melanie Hawtin and Tamara Steeves on the host team, Team Ontario. Team Quebec will feature Cindy Ouellet, Rosalie Lalonde, Elodie Tessier, and Sofia Fassi-Fehri, while Desiree Isaac Pictou will compete on the mixed-athlete team. Tara Llanes will represent Team BC.
