National Teams tip-off summer prep with camps in Ottawa and Toronto

Senior Women’s National Team to host Ottawa Invitational June 25-28

(OTTAWA, ONT.) – The Senior Women’s National Team will gather in Ottawa from June 22–28 for a training camp and the Ottawa Invitational at Algonquin College.

The Ottawa Invitational will provide valuable international competition ahead of the 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships, with Canada taking on Brazil, Japan and the United States. Eight of the tournament’s 10 games will be held at the Algonquin College ARC (1385 Woodroffe Ave., Ottawa, ON, K2G 1V8), with all games free and open to the public.

Men’s camp set for Toronto

Sixteen athletes have been invited to participate in the Senior Men’s National Team selection camp, taking place June 22–28 at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre in Scarborough, Ont.

The seven-day camp will feature a mix of on-court training sessions and off-court evaluations as coaches and high-performance staff assess athletes and finalize the roster for upcoming international competition. The camp represents a key step in the program’s preparations for the 2026 IWBF Wheelchair Basketball World Championships.
