Quebec tops BC to win gold at 2024 CWBL Women’s National Championship

Cindy Ouellet had a game-high 17 points in the victory

(OTTAWA, ONT.) – Team Quebec defeated BC 75-38 to win gold at the 2024 CWBL Women’s National Championship on Sunday at College la Cité.

Sunday’s gold medal game was a rematch of the 2023 final, which Quebec won 67-24 over BC in Montreal.

Cindy Ouellet scored a game-high 17 points and nine assists in the win. Elodie Tessier added 16 points, nine assists, and six rebounds, while Meriam Fassi-Fehri added 11 points and four rebounds.

Team BC was led by Elise Froese, who scored 14 points and four rebounds. Lanette Boland and Tara Llanes had seven points each for BC.

In the third place game, Ontario defeated the Mixed team 48-24. Danielle DuPlessis paced Ontario with a game-high 16 points and eight rebounds. Tamara Steeves, Celine Gibb, and Melanie Hawtin each had six points in the win.

Desiree Isaac-Pictou had a team-high 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Mixed team. Avery Lightfoot contributed eight points and 11 rebounds.
