The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) announced that Brazil will host the 2022 Americas Cup from July 9-19, 2022.

“We are looking forward to returning to Sao Paulo for this important competition,” said IWBF Americas President Steve Bach. “The past three years have been difficult for the players with limited chances for the teams to compete, so everyone is excited to finally have a host and a date confirmed.”

The Americas Cup will serve as the qualifier for the IWBF World Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Nov. 16-27, 2022).

The men’s division will see Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Canada, and the United States compete for four World Championship spots.

Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Guatemala, Mexico, Canada, and the United States will battle for three World Championship spots on the women’s side.
