Marni Abbott-Peter steps down as SWNT coach

The Vancouver native will remain Head Coach of the Women’s U25 Team

Marni Abbott-Peter has stepped down as head coach of the Senior Women’s National Team for personal reasons. Wheelchair Basketball Canada would like to thank Marni for her contributions and dedication to the SWNT.

Marni will remain part of the WBC High Performance Program as Head Coach of the Women’s Under-25 Team and lead the development of our next generation of young female athletes as they strive for excellence.

“On behalf of the Senior Women’s National Team, I would like to thank Marni for her commitment, integrity and passion for the program,” said Jeff Dunbrack, Wheelchair Basketball Canada High Performance Director. “We are thrilled that Marni will continue leading our NextGen athletes and remain involved in our High Performance Program.”

WBC looks forward to having Marni lead the Women’s Team at the Under-25 World Championship in Bangkok, Thailand.

The search for a new SWNT head coach is underway.
