Parasports Quebec to host Junior East Championship

March 8-10, 2024, at Centre Pierre-Charbonneau

The top junior Wheelchair Basketball athletes from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec will participate in the Junior East Championship at the Centre Pierre-Charbonneau in Montreal from March 8-10, 2024.

The Junior East Championship is an inclusive tournament and features athletes with and without disabilities competing together. The 3×3 event, governed by Wheelchair Basketball Canada (WBC) and presented by Parasports Quebec, marks the first competition in the Canada Games cycle. The 2027 Canada Winter Games will take place in Quebec City (Feb. 26-March 15, 2027).

The event includes a Development Camp on Friday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST. The camp, led by Women’s U25 National Team Head Coach Marni Abbott-Peter and Men’s U23 National Team Head Coach Darrell Nordell, is free and open to any athlete 24 and under (as of Dec. 31, 2027).

Fans and media are invited to attend the tournament. Media can capture visuals during the games, and athletes and coaches will be available for post-game interviews. The gold medal game will take place on March 10 at 12:30 p.m. EST.
